Arson unit probing warehouse fire in Gatineau

GATINEAU – The arson unit of Gatineau police are investigating a fire that completely destroyed an empty National Capital Commission warehouse early Saturday morning.

Firefighters were called to the warehouse at 80 Fournier Boulevard just before 6 a.m. Saturday, after reports of smoke coming from the area of Fournier Boulevard and the Gatineau River.

Fire crews pumped water from the river onto the building and had the blaze under control by 10:30 a.m.

There were no injuries.
