Firefighters extracted two from car after crash on Leitrim

OTTAWA – Two men were rushed to hospital in serious condition and another suffered minor injuries, after a major crash in the south end of the city.

Paramedics were called to the scene on Leitrim road between Bank and Albion, just after 1 p.m Thursday afternoon.

J.P. Trottier with Ottawa Paramedics said the car flew off the road, hit a tree and came to a stop on its side.

“There had been three occupants in the vehicle, one was ambulatory at scene, two were trapped inside and Ottawa fire had to do extrication on both of them,” said Trottier.

“The driver took over forty minutes because of the serious damage done to the vehicle.”

The driver and passenger are currently being treated for head injuries.

All three men who were in the car are in their twenties.
