More than 500 charges laid in July STEP

Police in Ottawa and Gatineau laid more than 500 charges in July’s Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP).
The focus for July was cycling safety and running red lights, which resulted in 503 charges, 253 in Ottawa and 250 in Gatineau.
Ottawa results:
Cycling safety – 66
Running red lights – 187
Gatineau results:
Cycling safety – 51
Running red lights – 199
