Rainfall warning in effect for surrounding areas

OTTAWA — A rainfall warning is in effect for areas west and northwest of Ottawa.

Environment Canada issued the warning for the areas of Arnprior, Smiths Falls, Pembroke, Petawawa and Calabogie on Thursday.

There is a slow moving system going through the region that has already dropped 30 millimetres over some areas.

The main concern is flash flooding and water pooling on roadways as some areas may see up to 80 millimetres of rain.
