Cleanup operation for the Ottawa River

OTTAWA — A mass cleanup operation of the Ottawa River was held Wednesday morning.
The Ottawa Police Marine Dive and Trail Unit teamed up with Great Canadian Shoreline Clean Up to plunge through the river at lock No. 1 of the Rideau Canal to recover as much litter as possible.
Among the litter recovered were bicycles, empty bottles, golf clubs, unusual artifacts, an oil tank, and even an E-reader.
The shoreline cleanup organization is now in its 21st year.
