Funeral being held for Ottawa woman killed in Ride the Rideau event

OTTAWA – A celebration of life is being held for the woman killed last Saturday during the Ride the Rideau event.

Laurie Strano, 40, was killed when she collided with a garbage truck on River Road as she was riding in the charity event supporting the Ottawa Hospital Foundation.

She was a mother of two, and an employee of the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre.

The family has requested that anyone wishing to make a donation in her honour send their donation to the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre.
