Science and Technology Museum closed for mould problems

OTTAWA – The Canada Science and Technology Museum has been closed until further notice due to unacceptable levels of airborne mould in the building.

A regular maintenance shutdown uncovered problem in the building on Lancaster Road.

Mould can cause a number of respiratory problems, as well as irritations.

Just last year, the museum announced it was giving up the search for a permanent location for the site which opened as a temporary location in 1967.

It’s unclear how long the museum will stay closed.
