Four suspects charged after kidnappings, three more at large

OTTAWA – Four people have been arrested and three people are still at large after two violent kidnappings and robberies.
In the first, a woman arranged to meet with a 25-year-old man through social media, and brought a second woman along to meet the man at his apartment on September 4. Once there, two other men showed up and the group attacked the man, and began stealing his belongings.
He was held for two days, and later abandoned in the Gananoque area. Some of his belongings were recovered more than a week later.
A second incident happened on September 12 on Montreal Road, when a 59-year-old man was attacked by four people and forced into a car.
They demanded his phone and wallet, and attempted to access his bank account, before he was later released.
Both men were treated in hospital for minor injuries.
Laura Brahaney, 25 of Ottawa, Lisa Wooley, 27 of Scarborough and Traevonne Mattis, 28 of Etobicoke were charged in relation to the first incident on September 4.
Brahaney was also charged in connection to the incident on September 12, along with Hibanura Ali, 21.
Police said two suspects wore masks and have yet to be identified, while a third, referred to as ‘J’ by his associates, is wanted in connection to the incidents.
