OTTAWA — Relief from this winter’s biting wind and brutal cold are sparking smiles and inspiring people to begin dreaming up outdoor plans.
Daytime highs this week in Ottawa are expected to be at or above zero, all week long. Tuesday’s high is forecast to be 10 degrees.
“Oh my gosh, that’s amazing,” gasped Kayla, walking in the ByWard Market. “I’m going to be in class all day but hey, it’s a start.”
Even many who enjoy winter admit, they’re ready for spring.
“I love all the winter activities, but then I like when it ends, too,” laughed Callie.
That seems to be the consensus, as Ottawans start to think about going for walks while wearing footwear other than clunky, heavy boots, wearing a scarf because you want to and not because you have to, or sitting on a patio where the only thing frosty is the choice of beverage.
