Two collisions involving deer keep emergency services busy

OTTAWA – A woman suffered minor injuries Monday morning after swerving to avoid a deer and ending up in a ditch.

It happened on Loggers Way, near Galetta Side Road around 10:30 a.m.

The 18-year-old driver suffered head and chest injuries but was treated at the scene.

It’s the second deer-related collision Monday after Ottawa Paramedics say another driver hit a deer between 5 and 6 a.m. in the far west end of the city.

Ottawa Paramedics and OPP are urging drivers to be cautious as deer are especially active around this time of the year.
