OTTAWA — The Ottawa Police Service Guns & Gangs Unit is investigating a shooting in the 300 block of Abbeydale Circle.

At 3:30 am Friday, a woman was awoken by a loud bang.

Later that morning, she noticed a hole in a bedroom window, and also found fragments of a bullet.

Police were called, and investigators found five bullet holes altogether.

The Guns & Gangs Unit does not believe this incident to be a random shooting, but police are not elaborating on why.

Anyone with information with respect to this shooting, or any other shooting, is asked to contact the Ottawa Guns & Gangs unit at 613-236-1222 ext. 5050. Anonymous tips can be submitted by calling Crime Stoppers toll-free at 1-800-222-8477(TIPS) or by downloading the Ottawa Police app.
