Ottawa man charged in connection to several thefts from vehicles

OTTAWA — Ottawa Police are crediting DNA links for helping catch an alleged thief wanted for breaking into several cars parked in underground lots late last year.

According to police, several cars were broken into at apartment buildings in the 1200 block of Donald Street on December 3rd.

Steven Wooff of Ottawa is charged with seven counts of theft from vehicle, four counts of mischief under $5,000 and two breach of conditions.

The 41-year-old also faces charges of break and enter and posession of a stolen motor vehicle that police allege happened the same day.

He’s set to appear in court Monday.
