Precautionary boil water advisory lifted for some Rideau Street businesses

OTTAWA – A boil water advisory has ended for the Rideau Centre Food Court, but is still in effect for some Rideau Street addresses.

Those businesses include:

41 Rideau Street (CIBC building)
45 Rideau Street (Holtz Spa)
47 Rideau Street (Chapters/Starbucks)
Rideau Centre Shopping Centre (including GoodLife Fitness Centre)including the Starbucks and Tim Horton’s.

The advisory is due to issues relating to the Rideau Street sinkhole.

People in the affected area are asked to bring their water to a rolling boil for at least one minute before using it for all consumption purposes, including drinking, making juice, ice and infant formula, as well as for use in food preparation.

This advisory will be rescinded once Ottawa Public Health is satisfied that water quality meets drinking water guidelines and tap water is deemed to be safe.
