What’s on: Bluesfest final weekend

OTTAWA – It’s the final weekend of the 22nd edition of RBC Royal Bank Bluesfest.

Friday’s lineup includes this year’s headliner Red Hot Chilli Peppers on the main stage at 9:30 p.m., and you may be kicking yourself if you waited to buy passes. Due to demand, day passes for Friday are selling for close $100 after taxes and fees, compared to $68 for Saturday passes — and there are a very limited number left available.

Organizers have announced there won’t be any day-of tickets available at the festival’s onsite box office. The limited number of tickets left are available at official Bluesfest outlets until 5 p.m.

Other performers Friday include Steve Adamyk Band, The Red Rails, THE YIPS, Lindsay Ferguson, Coleman Hell, Zeds Dead, Destructo and Jack de Keyzer.

Duran Duran is the big headliner Saturday, hitting the main stage at 9:30 p.m. Other Saturday performances include Nelly, The Lionyls, Future, The Flava Factory, Just Poets, Wolf Parade, DZ Deathrays, The Wicked Mercy, Dubé and Cashmere Cat.

City and Colour closes losing out the festival Sunday on the mainstage. Also hitting the stage Sunday — Bryan Ferry, Amos the Transparent, The Peptides, The Zolas, Lemeow, Bombino, Bonnie Doon, James McMurtry, Brock Zeman, Barry and The Blasters, The Powergoats, TJ Wheeler and The Slow Century.
