Globe and Mail building evacuated after bomb threat

TORONTO – The Globe and Mail building on Front Street was evacuated Friday afternoon after a bomb threat.

Police say a man phoned in the threat and the building was evacuated as a precaution shortly before 3 p.m. Employees were told to leave the building due to a “security related concern.”

CBRN Officers (Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear) along with the K9 unit searched the building but have not turned up anything suspicious.

 

Fires crews now joining police at The Globe and Mail. Area sealed off due to bomb threat.

We were told over the intercom that the Globe building is under a “state of emergency.”
