OTTAWA — Four adults and two children were displaced after a fire at 8 Largo Crescent Saturday night.
Firefighters were called to the scene at 9:42 p.m. and found a fire in the kitchen.
Ottawa Fire tells 1310 News the fire appeared to have started from unattended cooking and a neighbour called 911 after seeing smoke coming from the home.
Fire Prevention Officer Marc Messier wrote on Twitter that a neighbour broke down the door of the home to warn people, but the home was empty.
He also wrote that the fire was “contained to the kitchen but there was extensive damage from smoke, heat and water throughout the bungalow.”
Damages to the home are estimated at $300,000.
