OTTAWA – OC Transpo has apologized after a young woman was told to get off a bus because of what she was wearing.
Monica Jean Wethner, 18, said she was wearing a short top – with her belly button showing – when a driver told her to get off a bus on Sunday.
Transit boss John Manconi said he wants to reassure the public that OC Transpo does not have a dress code.
“She has my apology and we’re giving her an appropriate refund,” said Manconi on Monday.
OC Transpo is investigating the incident so it can prevent future cases where passengers are wrongfully removed from buses.
