OTTAWA – An education assistant, who admitted to having a sexual relationship with an underage boy, will be sentenced on Tuesday, August 30.
At Monday’s sentence hearing, the Crown called for 12-14 months of jail time and the defence suggested a 90-day intermittent sentence.
Katherine Kitts, 45, pleaded guilty to sexual exploitation after having a two-year relationship with a student.
Kitts sexually assaulted the boy on a daily basis at school, in her van and various other places. The victim told court, “She stole my innocence.”
The relationship was discovered by the boy’s mother who saw sexually graphic texts between the two.
Kitts is a sexual predator, says victim’s mother
“She was forcing herself on my son, stalking my son, and manipulating him” said the victim’s mother.
“It’s been hard for him to move on from it.”
Kitts has been out on bail with conditions and has been told to stay away from Sir Robert Borden High School and to have no contact with minors.
