A helicopter crash in New Brunswick has claimed the lives of two men, including the co-owner of the Capitales De Quebec baseball team – A team in the same league as the Ottawa Champions.
The team’s Facebook page says Roberto “Bob” Bissonnette and the chopper pilot, Frederick Decoste, both died in the crash Sunday afternoon.
Bisonnette was a former hockey player with the Hull Olympiques (Currently Gatineau Olympiqiues) between 1998 and 2002.
RCMP say the helicopter got tangled in some powerlines in the community of Flatlands, west of Campbellton along the Restigouche River.
Quebec Capitales team president Michel Laplante was also on the plane. He survived the crash and suffered non life-threatening injuries.
Our thoughts and prayers go to the @CapitalesQuebec family. RIP to Bob Bissonette and Frederick Decoste, speedy recovery to Michel Laplante
