Five people facing human trafficking charges in three separate investigations

OTTAWA – Five people are facing human trafficking charges in connection to three investigations in the city.
According to police, two women came upon two girls, aged 14 and 15, in the Sandy Hill area on July 22, offered to give them a ride and attempted to recruit them into prostitution.
Officers found the two girls later that day inside an apartment in the 300 block of Gloucester Street and two women and a man were arrested.
-Amina Ahmed, 30 of Ottawa, faces charges including human trafficking and drug possession.
-Nadia Ngoto, 32, of Ottawa, faces charges including human trafficking and uttering threats.
-Shukri Aden, 35 of Ottawa, wasn’t charged with human trafficking, but faces charges including sexual assault and sexual assault of a person under 16.
Then on September 2, police responded to a reported assault in Barrhaven, where a man was arrested at the scene. The case was turned over to the Ottawa Police Human Trafficking Unit and a man was charged.
Jordan Noel, 27 of Ottawa, faces charges including human trafficking, assault, uttering threats, theft under $5,000 and breach of probation.
Then on September 7, police executed a search warrant at a home in the 400 block of Wisteria Crescent in the south end.
The man and woman living in the home are facing charges in relation to seven women, and are accused of operating an organized prostitution enterprise using several rental apartments in the city.
Qiang Tian, 35 of Ottawa, and Xi Zhang, 33 of Ottawa, face numerous human trafficking charges.
