OTTAWA — The Guns and Gangs unit is investigating after a 23-year-old man was shot in the Carlington neighbourhood.
Police and paramedics responded to 1485 Caldwell Avenue, an Ottawa Community Housing apartment building, at 7:30 p.m., Friday and found the man with a single gun shot wound to his abdomen.
He was taken to the Civic Hospital in stable condition.
This is the city’s 58th shooting of the year and comes a day after a Community Safety Night was held with residents, Ottawa Police, the Carlington Community Association and River Ward Councillor Riley Brockington to address crime and violence in the area.
