Ottawa terror suspect arrested again

OTTAWA – An Ottawa terror suspect has been arrested for the second time in less than two weeks, for allegedly violating his release conditions.

The National Post reports, Tevis Gonyou-Mclean, 24, was arrested Saturday morning, just five days after he was released from custody for a previous breach of conditions.

Gonyou-Mclean was supposed to observe a curfew from 10 p.m. until 6 a.m. and wear a GPS monitoring ankle bracelet.

His previous arrest, for damaging his ankle bracelet, not living at the address given to authorities, and not reporting in to bail supervisors, was brushed off by his lawyer as a misunderstanding.

Gonyou-Mclean was first arrested back in August because police had evidence he might join the Islamic State.
