OTTAWA – Organizer Liam Maguire is hoping that 2,200 people in uniform – including police officers, firefighters and paramedics – will gather in Kanata for an attempt at a Guinness book world record for the most people doing pushups at the same time.
The idea is part of the 22 Push-Up Challenge — an online fundrasing event, partnered with Wounded Warriors Canada, that aims to raise cash for soldiers and first responders with PTSD.
“We set a goal of $22,000 to be raised by December 22, and we did that in less than a month,” said Liam Maguire, the host of The Ultimate Hockey Show on 1310 NEWS. “We are now pushing more than $90,000.”
The world record attempt will get underway at 12 p.m., Thursday, at the Cabela’s parking lot on Palladium Drive.
