OTTAWA–The Ministry of Labour is continuing its investigation into yesterday’s industrial incident at the LRT tunnel construction site near Waller and Laurier.
Initially it was reported as a collapse inside the tunnel — but turned out to be a chunk of falling concrete and rebar, that came away from the tunnel wall.
Three workers were trapped briefly, and one suffered minor injuries.
The ministry was notified by Ottawa Police, and has issued three requirements to two employers requiring the securing documents and not to disturb the incident scene.
Three inspectors have been assigned to the investigation.
