OTTAWA – Police are searching for a suspect following a home invasion in Barrhaven last Friday.
According to police, a man entered a home on Longshire Circle through an insecure doorway at around 1:20 a.m. on Dec. 30.
The suspect then pointed a gun at a woman inside the home before forcing her to drive him to an ATM to withdraw cash. The man then made the victim drive him to Avonhurst Avenue before leaving the vehicle.
The woman was not injured.
Two children were sleeping in the home but police do not believe they were alerted to the incident.
The suspect is described as a white male, 30-40-years-old, obese, approximately 5’9″ (175cm), with a deep voice.
The male also reportedly smelled bad and his breathing was laboured.
