Ottawa man facing child pornography charges

OTTAWA – Police have charged an Ottawa man with five child pornography offences following an investigation that began in the summer.

Back in mid-July, police received information from the National Child Exploitation Coordination Centre that showed an IP address in the Ottawa-area was linked to chats about sexually abusing children and uploading images of child sexual abuse.

A search warrant was executed Thursday at a home in the Orleans Village-Chateauneuf area, with police seizing several digital devices.

Jean-Michel Duval, 33, is charged with one count of distributing child pornography, three counts of possession of child pornography and one count of making child pornography available.

Duval is due in court Friday.

The investigation also revealed Duval had been arrested and charged in March of 2010 during province-wide probe into child pornography.
