OTTAWA – Fire crews battled a blaze at the Manotick Arena and Community Centre early Friday.
Crews responded to a 911 call reporting visible flames on the side of the arena around 5:20 a.m. When crews arrived, they found flames on the second floor.
The fire was under control just before 6 a.m., but an investigator is expected to be at the scene most of the day.
There is no word on what sparked the fire or how much damage was caused.
The arena is the venue for this weekend’s Shiverfest; organizers say the festival is not cancelled but they will post any changes to the locations of events on their website.
