OTTAWA–
OC Transpo confirms it has pulled 43 of its newer double-decker buses off the road for some maintenance, after an operator noticed “fumes” on a bus last night.
According to a statement from the Director of Transit Operations, Troy Charter, an inspection revealed an “over-heated wire harness.”
There was no fire, and no risk to the driver or passengers, according to the statement.
OC Transpo contacted the bus manufacturer, and is proactively inspecting and replacing wire-harnesses on those newer models, with the work to be done this weekend.
Transit officials say there will be some minor adjustments to service this weekend, but no impact to Monday morning service.
