OTTAWA – Closing a number of west end schools was on the agenda Monday night at an Ottawa-Carleton District School Board special committee meeting.
Of the seven west end schools under review, the board’s committee of the whole has recommended closing five: Leslie Park, and Century elementary schools, Greenbank and D.A. Moodie middle schools, as well as Grant Alternative.
It’s reccomended that Regina Street Public remain open, and be turned into an alternative school.

According to Postmedia, a decision is still needed on J.H. Putnam, but a proposal would save the building but make it French immersion only. The board’s committee of the whole will continue discussions tonight.
Meantime, to the east, the fate of Rideau High School will be discussed Wednesday.
