One confirmed mumps case near Ottawa

OTTAWA — Public Health officials said there is no increase in the number of mumps cases in the city, however a neighbouring health unit has confirmed one case, with possible contacts in Ottawa.
Ottawa Public Health said Saturday it was contacting those people who may have been in contact with the person to let them know about the mumps virus.
The MMR vaccine covers measles, mumps and rubella.
Health officials encourage anyone between 18 and 35 years old to make sure they’ve had two doses of the shot.
In the first eight months of 2016, OPH had four confirmed mumps cases in Ottawa.
