Amber Alert ends for boy, 4; child and suspect located in Ottawa

OTTAWA – An Amber Alert has ended for a missing Montreal-area boy after he and his mother were located safely in Ottawa.
Sûreté du Québec began searching for Joël Mukonkole, 4, after they suspected he had been taken by his mother, Rachel Esema-Okako, 31.
The Amber Alert was issued in Saint-Jérôme, near Montreal, and the pair had been sighted early Wednesday morning in the Kanata area.
Mid-afternoon on Wednesday, Ottawa Police said the woman and child had been sighted on foot in downtown Ottawa.
Later that afternoon, Sûreté du Québec said both had been located safe in the capital.
This is an updated story. The police had earlier misspelled the names of the child and mother.
