Crews rescue man hanging from ledge over Ottawa River

OTTAWA – Emergency crews rescued a man hanging from a ledge over the Ottawa River Sunday.

Fire and paramedic services responded to the Mill Street Brew Pub at 555 Wellington St. just after 6 p.m., where police had confirmed a man was clinging to a ledge, calling for help.

Fire crews reached the man in distress and placed a life jacket on him before guiding him through the water to the shore.

Fire Rope Rescue Technicians provided the man with blankets and used a Stokes basket to get him back up the embankment.

The man was uninjured.
