Crews tackle deep fryer fire at BBQ chicken restaurant

OTTAWA – Crews took down a fire at a fast food restaurant in Vanier Wednesday evening.
Ottawa Fire Services responded to YKO Chicken BBQ at 375 McArthur Ave. around 7:40 p.m. after a 911 call reporting a kitchen fire.
Crews arrived to find heavy smoke in the kitchen and the deep fryer completely involved.
The fire was under control shortly after 8 p.m.
There were no injuries reported and the cause is unknown at this time.
A City of Ottawa health inspector has been called in.
