GATINEAU — The coroner’s reports in the death of a Gatineau couple paints a grim picture for the 3-year-old boy who was found alive.
Chris Lecouvie, 33, and Amalie Gautier-Matte, 20, were likely dead for four days before a friend, going to check on them, saw Lecouvie’s child throwing toys out of a window.
The boy had been in the apartment with the pair the entire time.
The coroner said the two were found intertwined on a bed after dying from fentanyl poisoning.
Both had MDMA and methamphetamines in their system in addition to fatal amounts of fentanyl.
The child was taken to hospital when the gruesome discovery was made on February 23.
The boy was checked out and determined to be in perfect health.
