One person injured in fire on Meadowlands Drive

OTTAWA – One person has been treated for smoke inhalation and burns to their hands after an early morning fire in the city’s west end.

Fire crews were called to a building in the 1100 block of Meadowlands Drive at 4:30 a.m. Monday after reports of smoke on the 5th floor.

The blaze was under control by 5 a.m. and a fire investigator has been called to assess the damage and investigate the cause.

Meadowlands Drive was closed between Hogan Street and Fisher Avenue, but has since reopened.
