UPDATE: Student brawl leads to suspensions

OTTAWA – School officials with the Ottawa Catholic School Board are reviewing circumstances around a Monday brawl involving students from St. Pius X high school.
Up to eight students have been suspended.
The school board confirmed there was an ‘altercation’ involving a ‘few youth’ in a park in the Fisher and Meadowlands area.
The fight was observed by ‘many” onlookers.’
One of the students had a screwdriver, but did not use it to injure anyone.
According to the school board statement, all parents and guardians of students involved have been notified, and the school is working with police as well.
