Man facing child pornography charges

OTTAWA – Police have charged an Ottawa man with child pornography offences.

Late last month, a member of the Ottawa Police Service Internet Child Exploitation Unit was conducting an investigation on a Peer to Peer (P2P) network when an IP address sharing files of prepubescent children being sexually abused was found.

Investigation revealed the address was based in Ottawa and a search warrant was executed in Centretown.

Police seized a number of devices that revealed thousands images and videos of child porn.

Brent Baxter, 40, faces two counts of possession of child porn, one count of making child porn available and one count of accessing child porn.

He is due in court Thursday.
