OTTAWA – The union representing roughly 2,500 part time professors at the University of Ottawa has taken a step towards going on strike.
On Friday, the Association of Part Time Professors at the school voted 92 per cent in favor of a strike mandate.
That means a strike could happened as soon as October 30, over issues including salaries, job security, and representation on the university’s senate.
In an email sent to students, the association outline that four days of talks are scheduled before that date, and they’re committed to finding a “fair and equitable deal.”
This potential strike action comes as the Ontario College faculty strike moves into its second week on Monday, where over half a million students are being held out of class.
