Man charged in crash near Wakefield

WAKEFIELD–MRC des Collines police have charged a La Pêche man with dangerous driving in connection with a crash Friday near Wakefield that sheered off a light standard and destroyed a car.
It happened October 27, at 3:50 pm on Highway 105 near the village of Alcove.
Police report a car blew past a patrol car radar going 150 kilometres an hour.
The driver lost control on a curve in the road, and hit a street light snapping off the pole.
The driver refused to be taken to hospital, police said.
The 27-year old man is charged with dangerous driving, fined $1,072, and hit with ten demerit points.
