Man injured in chlorine container explosion

OTTAWA — A man in his 60’s is in stable condition at the trauma centre, after a container of chlorine exploded.

Paramedics and the fire department were called shortly after 11:00 Tuesday morning to a home in the area of Carling and Woodroffe.

The man had been putting chlorine in a pool when the container exploded.

He suffered multiple soft tissue injuries to his face, arm, and leg, and his blood pressure was low.

He was given IV fluids and rushed to the hospital.
