Van with baby inside stolen in Gatineau

GATINEAU – A Gatineau mother has been reunited with her baby after the family’s van was stolen, with the child inside.
The theft happened while the woman had stopped at a convenience store on chemin de la Savane, just east of the Promenades de l’Outaouais mall.
Police and K-9 units began a search and located the abandoned vehicle about 15 minutes later, a short distance away, with the baby still inside.
Police say the baby was fine.
The search is still on for the van thief, who is described as:
-about 25-years-old
-medium build
-wearing a gray-blue coat
