Jonathan Pitre discharged from hospital in Minnesota

Jonathan Pitre has been discharged from the hospital again.

On Wednesday evening, his mother Tina Boileau tweeted a picture of a hospital exit sign with the caption, “This is the best sign to see in the hospital… especially when you are leaving with your favourite little man. Welcome back to the apartment Jonny Boy.”

According to the Ottawa Citizen, the discharge comes after the latest tests show that Pitre’s transplanted bone marrow is producing healthy levels of red blood cells and platelets.

Pitre is being treated at the Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital, where he has undergone two stem cell transplants to ease the pain of his rare skin condition, Epidermolysis bullosa simplex.

EB Simplex is a rare skin condition with no cure that leaves painful blisters and sores all over the body.
