Ottawa fire crews battled a stubborn fire Wednesday afternoon at a home on Prince of Wales Drive near the Colonnade Road intersection.

Around 2:40 p.m. multiple 911 calls were received of black smoke and flames coming from a one-and-a-half-story home.

When crews arrived, they found the fire in the attic and engaged in a rapid fire attack, a 2nd alarm was declared at 3:19 p.m.

The fire was out just before 4:30 p.m and a fire investigator is looking into the cause.

Two adults and their dogs were displaced and assisted by the Salvation Army and Red Cross.

There were no reported injuries.
