Canada Day in Ottawa: What to do

Sweltering heat conditions will be plaguing the nation's capital all weekend.
An extreme heat warning is in effect for Ottawa. Temperatures are expected to reach a high of 36C Sunday. The humidex factor will make it feel more like 49C.
If that's not stopping you from celebrating Canada Day, here's a list of what you can do around Ottawa on Sunday.

Parliament Hill
Where: Parliament Hill, 111 Wellington St.
What: Celebrations on the Hill include an Algonquin blessing of the grounds, Carillion Concert, and various musical acts including The Arkells, Lights, and Elijah Woods x Jamie Fine.

Where: Major's Hill Park, Mackenzie Ave.
What: Celebrations include performances by Noubi Trio, The Beaches, Logan Staats, La Bronze, Jacobus, Charlotte Cardin, Yao, Miss Shelton.

Barrhaven
Where: Clarke Fields Park, 93 Houlahan St.
What: Celebrations at the park include ceremonial speeches, a parade of flags, disco inferno, and end with fireworks.
When: 4-10 p.m. – Fireworks begin at 10 p.m.

What: Celebrations along the Mississippi river include a kid's zone, live entertainment, petting zoo, interactive demonstration and fireworks.

What: Celebrations include trolly rides, pony rides, a magician, a free barbecue from 3-6 p.m., which include hot dogs and water. Beer Garden and Live Music from 2-9 p.m.

What: Celebrations include a road race, several live music events, a Jeep test drive tour, and fireworks.

What: Celebrations include a magic show, live entertainment with several music acts, a dunk tank, and fireworks.

What: Celebrations include inflatable rides, a petting zoo, pony rides, live entertainment, mini golf, laser tag, archery, and fireworks.
When: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., fireworks will be during the evening time event.
