Arrest made in string of robberies at Ottawa businesses

A 55-year-old Ottawa man is facing charges after a number of commercial robberies in the city.

An Ottawa police officer spotted a vehicle, around 2:20 p.m. Monday, which matched the description of a vehicle used in a various robberies. The officer also believed the driver matched the description of the suspect in those robberies. 

The vehicle was stopped on Hwy 417 and the officer called for backup before making an arrest. 

David Young is facing charges of:

– Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
– Flight while pursued by peace officer
– Robbery (three counts) 

Young is charged with three counts of robbery at this time, but police say he could soon be facing a number of additional robbery charges. 

He will be in show cause court on Tuesday.
