Ottawa police seize loaded handguns, cocaine in Stittsville

Two people have been arrested after police uncovered a pair of loaded handguns, along with some cocaine, an unknown powder and cash in a Stittsville home.

The Ottawa Police Service Drug Unit executed a search warrant at a home on Country Glen Way, near Huntmar Drive at Campeau Drive in Stittsville, on Tuesday morning.

Si Hoan Nguyen, 32, and Si Duong Nguyen, 28, both from Ottawa, are facing charges of:

– Possession of a loaded regulated firearm (2 counts)
– Store firearm carelessly (2 counts)
– Possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace (2 counts)
– Possession of a restricted firearm knowing not holding a license (2 counts)
– Unlicensed person to possess a restricted weapon (2 counts)
– Possession of a firearm obtained by crime (2 counts)
– Possession of property obtained by crime not exceeding $5,000 (2 counts)
– Possession of a firearm with altered serial number
– Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking (2 counts)
– Possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000

Items seized include:

– Hi Point CF .380 handgun (loaded)
– Browning 9mm handgun (loaded)
– 5 rounds of .380 ammunition
– Over 360 rounds of 9mm ammunition
– Cocaine
– Crack cocaine
– Unknown powder (to be tested)
– 2017 Lexus IS 300 motor vehicle
– Canadian currency
– Money counting machine

The Nguyens will be in show cause court Wednesday.
