Upper Ottawa Valley police make arrest in child porn investigation

A Toronto man is facing child pornography-related charges after a two-week online investigation by members of the Ontario Provincial Police Child Sexual Exploitation Unit and Upper Ottawa Valley OPP.
Police arrested Joseph Butera, 52, of Toronto, on Wednesday and charged him with:
– Obtaining sexual services for consideration from a person under 18 years (3 counts)
– Agreements and arrangements regarding sexual offences against a child (2 counts)
– Counsel to commit sexual assault (2 counts)
– Counsel to commit making of child pornography.
The accused was held for bail hearing and is next scheduled to appear Thursday, December 13, at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke.
The investigation is ongoing.
