Ottawa home daycare provider charged with aggravated assault on children

The Ottawa Police Service Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Unit has arrested and charged a child home daycare provider for a number of assaults involving two young children.
Complaints were received at the end of 2018, stemming from incidents in mid-2012.
Police say the daycare operated in southeast Ottawa.
Luzia Arruda, 30, of Ottawa is charged with:
– Aggravated assault (2 counts)
– Assault causing bodily harm
– Assault with a weapon
– Assault (6 counts)
Investigators are concerned there may be other victims in this case, and are looking to speak to anyone with information about these incidents.
