By Mike Vlasveld

A 46-year-old Ottawa man is facing two counts of arranging to meet a child for a sexual purpose on the Internet after an investigation by the Ottawa Police Service, the Ontario Provincial Police in Russell County and the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Kansas City.

Local police started investigating after getting a tip from the FBI in November.

The two-month-long investigation culminated on Tuesday, January 29, when OPP officers arrested a man and searched his home.

Two cell phones and a desktop computer tower were seized by police.

Mark Stordy is the man charged.

The accused is scheduled to appear for a bail hearing on Wednesday, January 30, at the Ontario Court of Justice in Ottawa.

The investigation is continuing.
