US, Mexican states partnering on higher education

HENDERSON, Nev. — The U.S. state of Nevada’s higher education system is partnering with its counterpart in the Mexican state of Tamaulipa (tah-mow-LEE’-pahs).
Chancellor Thom Reilly of the Nevada system says a memorandum of understanding between officials of the two states’ education systems will provide new educational opportunities while building greater cultural understanding and fostering academic collaborations.
An announcement of the new partnership says the relationship will include designing dual-degree programs, offering language courses, establishing student and personnel exchanges and collaborating on training of faculty and students in bilingual studies, mechatronics, and other disciplines.
The Nevada system includes universities and multiple colleges.
